Film and music were closely linked at the 85th Academy Awards Sunday in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Brown Sugar Chocolate MuffinsThe show got under way with a few performance numbers thanks to host Seth MacFarlane who solicited help from Channing Tatum, Charlize Theron, Daniel Radcliffe and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

James Bond made its way into the action, too, with Shirley Bassey singing the title song to the 1960s James Bond film, "Goldfinger." British singer Adele also took the stage to perform "Skyfall," from the latest Bond flick, which later went on to win the best original song Oscar. "This is amazing," Adele said during her acceptance speech.

Movie musicals took center stage with starting with Catherine Zeta-Jones reviving her "Chicago" performance of "All that Jazz."

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson commanded the stage for "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" from "Dreamgirls," granting her a major standing ovation from the crowd.

Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman were among the stars who sang "One Day More" from "Les Miserables."

Barbra Streisand https://www.ogaby8az6.online took the Oscars stage for the first time 36 years to perform "The Way We Were" following the "In Memoriam" tribute. Streisand last sang the theme from "A Star is Born" at the 1977 Oscars, winning the best original song for "Evergreen" that same night.

Norah Jones gave a jazzy, blues-oriented performance of "Everybody Needs a Best Friend" from "Ted," the Oscar-nominated song written by MacFarlane.

The evening ended just as it started, with MacFarlane onstage. He sang a tribute to "the losers" of the Oscars with Kristin Chenoweth, calling out the nominees who went home Oscar-less.
